After 35 years of conditioning to box both Golden Gloves and Amateur starting at age 15, i have had a chance to learn what works and what does not work. I have guys on this site ask me all the time, so here are my thoughts. I send everyone to a free weight mainenance site called Fitday.com. Follow the instructions. It will help you make wise food choices. I hate the word. DIET, i prefer lifestyle change. If you call your self an athlete, you need to learn to eat like one. Many guys actually dont eat enough of the right foods. When you are trying to build muscle, you need to feed it. When your body doesn't get the right combination if nourishment. It will consume muscle first, because it thinks you are trying to starve it. Everyone is different so you need to follow Fitday.com. Figure out how many calories you need to both fuel and loose weight I tell my clients to 1st. Take measurements, arms, chest, neck, waist, hips, quads, and calves. Write these numbers in a book. Then weight your self. Then dont get on the scale for two months. Our bodies change out metabolism every 28 days so I like to work in 2 week cycles. I also believe that. At the end if your workout , if you arent completely sweated through your clothes, you have wasted your time. I believe in working to complete muscle fatigue. To exhaustion. Guys tell me they do x number of sets and reps. To this I say, Work to failure. Till you can’t do another. I work abs and calves everyday. I work my abs to total failure. If you are working out you need to drink water and for every 3 16 oz bottles of water, you need 1 bottle of a sugar free electrolyte replacement replacement drink. Powerade Zero is my favorite. There are some fine video trainers on you tube. I have looked a many and I recommend several depending what you are looking for. If you want to drop some weight, one if my methods is to eliminate fast carbs for 14 days. Thats no pie, cake, bread of any kind, no rice, no pasta or any sugar or anything that breaks down into sugar because if you dont burn it. It turns to fat. You have to burn 1600 calories to burn 1 pound if fat. This is not rocket science. You can do this. If i can help u i will. Im helping 10 guys on Meetfighters now. I'll only say that this guys methods work. After many years of working out and losing interest because of slow or no progress, I have starting seeing dramatic results.
