Freestyle Wrestling

I prefer to train with the only the following gear on:
Wrestling shoes with ankle socks
A pair of mid-thigh level MMA shorts (free balling it)

Makes me feel raw. No armor, no protection, just pure 100% beef, 100% wrestler.

That is unique. When I. have private matches., I. wrestle free.

Count me in on singlets, shoes, headgear and mats. Have done a very few matches in motels/hotels on mattresses but it just isn't the same. And it just isn't as fun for me when my opponent is wearing loose shorts and t-shirts. I want to wrestle in singlets or tight gear. All of that is part of what appeals to me about wrestling.

Bet there has only been a very few guys that had a setup like mine. It was too bad that I was so far away from a major city to find guys to wrestle. That 24 x 24 mat was awesome. You were one of only 3 serious wrestlers that ever came to wrestle. By the way, I still have the OSU singlet!

That's awesome that you still have the singlet. Do you ever get to wrestle in it? What did you do with those mats? Still have them?

Still not any locals to wrestle so I don't get to wrestle in it. Got rid of the mats many years ago since they were not being used and were just taking up space.

If you ever want to wrestle on mats, I still have all 5 sets of mine from The Okie Rumble and a two-car garage. Would enjoy hosting you and catching up. Mark

These lycra singlets are way better than the cottom tights and briefs I used to wrestle in in HS.

Have a number of these lycra singlets. They don't get soggy from sweat and are great to wrestle in. They are low cut for maximum chest exposure. Um die Galerie zu sehen, logge dich bitte ein.

What I like.

Like the singlets and wrestling gear part of the match. I have 5 sets of mats since I hosted The Okie Rumble for 14 years. That's just part of it. My favorite is mats, wrestling shoes, gear (singlet, Speedos or Roman-style) and the scent of two showered men going at it in a match. Clean manly scent of sweat is a nice method for arousal.

Thanks everyone for the great comments. I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes the sound and feel of gear on gear, like a sweaty tie-up in head gear, or wrestling shoes locked against each other on the mat. Also into "practice" gear, like shorts and t-shirts, or sweats, and stuff like that. I'll reply one-on-one, thanks!

You described it well. There's something special about the sounds and feel of shoes on mat, singlets sliding against each other, face pressed into the mat, etc.

Love it all…
From singlets to earguards, but especially the shoes on a mat. It truly get me into the freestyle/amateur mindset.

Love to wrestel in singlet and wrestling shoes, shirtless. Love the physical contact and wrestling in gear makes for a real match, especially on a mat. Being in the wrestling gear helps me be in the wrestling mindset.

Absolutely this. Gets you focused & you feel great in it.

Like wrestling in wrestling shoes and on real mats. What I wear is optional. Singlets good but also good with just practicing and drilling in gym shorts and t-shirt.don’t usually wear headgear unless in a tournament or other guy wants it.

I like to wrestle in low cut singlet ( oldstyle ) and wrestling shoes

Anyone in this group enjoy wrestling in competitive gear? Anything from singlets to headgear, pads, shoes, etc. I'm not competitive anymore but can do light sparring and like the idea of going back to that time. Real mats would add to it, too!

I’ve got all the gear and mats too. Love it. But also love it when it gets down to no gear.
