Here we are still in the midst of a pandemic that too many have gotten tired of fearing because it hasn't affected them yet. But what is new is that the virus mutated and is now more contagious than it was six months ago. New estimates show that half of those infected were never exposed to anyone with symptoms. And the average age of those infected with serious symptoms has dropped by 15 years. It's not an old man's disease.

Guys are tired of worrying about it because they still haven't gotten sick. In an attempt to stabilize the economy, certain people high in government say that everything is under control, but fatalities continue, killing many people who no doubt also thought there was nothing to fear but fear itself. Some think increased testing has made the numbers unreliable. The number of fatalities is not dependent on testing.

Some are tired of waiting for the danger to pass and are willing to risk their own life and the lives of others in order to maintain their hobby. Some think it's safe to come in physical contact with others when that's about the least safe thing you can do now.

In Florida, there were 1213 fatalities in April, 1146 in May, 1090 in June and almost 1000 in the first two weeks of July. Florida classifies many of its Covid patients as pneumonia patients.

In Arizona, there were 301 fatalities in April, 555 in May, 747 in June and another 800 in the first two weeks of July.

In the UK, fatalities have been at least cut in half every month since April. April fatalities were just under 25,000. May fatalities were under 11,000. June fatalities were under 5,000. While the first two weeks of July had just over 1000 fatalities in the UK.

Some might be tired of worrying about it but the danger hasn't gone anywhere. Everyone sees video of people on the beach, partying, ignoring social distance and going without masks. They're having a great time. But how do those people feel the next day? You don't know.

Some say they're not going to let a fear of dying keep them from living. That sounds good. But this isn't about groundless fear. It's about high-risk, reckless behavior that contributes to the virus spread in the most infected country in the world. In simple terms, everyone is doing one of two things, you're either fighting the virus or you're submitting to the virus. Others will counter that you're either fighting the fear or you're submitting to the fear. The difference is that the fear can't kill you but the virus can.

Thank you. Too many people have become convinced that facts are a matter of opinion.

The value of life has always been relative. The poor in Latin America or Africa has very little valid, easily replaceable. Problems is that economic models deals with numbers, not names

Yes. The ruling elite always have tunnel vision that sees nothing but the 'big picture.' The mass of people are seen as a resource to be used or discarded if it isn't useful.

And the idea that the crisis are a way to see it differently is actually false. It is just increasing the distance between the rich and the poor. Maybe this is what some people understand by social distancing

Duro. Pero dicho con precisión. Que gusto de conocer gente que son buenos luchadores, pero también con conciencia social. Abrazos y saludos.
