There is no substitute for running. I've pretty much cornered myself into facing that fact, so now a minimum of one mile is a part of every trip to the gym. it's certainly not easy, and by the end of it tonight my left knee hurt like hell. Two hours later and I'm good though, so now it's just a matter of sticking with it.
Unfortunately, having trainer time is difficult because of work screwing me over on my schedule. Not entirely sure if that's ground to flip everybody the middle finger and quit in search of a new job, but it's definitely on the table. In the mean time, I know enough to work on technique in a much more knowledgeable capacity on my own. Definitely more motivated now that I've braved the treadmill and realized it's not quite as dangerous as it seems...
Still would be nice if I had some sort of workout partner to do padwork outside the gym I go to, though. I'll probably have to move again to make that happen.
