Opinion about boxing stakes

I can understand his opinion about the slight advantage headgear could give, but ultimately stakes should be mutually agreed and if that agreement cannot be reached then no match up.

I think that both fighters should be on a level playing field unless specifically giving a handicap because of size, age, or exp. If you were both in headgear then stakes could be equal.

I recently had an argument with another wrestler about something (won't say who), and I wanted to try and get people's opinions on it.

I was chatting with a guy, and we started planning a boxing match. We were going to basically go until someone got koed (or submitted). We were both fine with few rules and winner getting to dominate the loser. I said I wanted to wear head gear (which he was fine with), and he didn't. I didn't want to take the chance I would end up with a bruise I couldn't explain, and we agreed on this.

The problem was, he thought that since I was boxing with a slight advantage (headgear to protect me from headshots), I shouldn't be able to win the same thing he could. Basically, we both wanted to fight for top originally. However, with me wearing the headgear, he thought I should only be able to win a blow job. Basically, him fighting with out headgear meant he could win my ass, and I fighting with it meant I could win a bj.

I didn't think this was fair, but I was wondering what everyone else's opinion on this was.

You would have an unfair advantage, as it is harder to KO someone who is wearing head gear.

Why not agree to the boxing on the day you start a holiday from work, giving time for bruises to heal before you go back?

I have given some thought to waiting to do it for that reason. But that was the point, me wearing headgear would make it harder for him to win.
