I can take a really hard gut punch and can dish them out---But just as in the case of boxing, that urge to grab and take you down to the mat is almost overwhelming---and ass over head you go down before you know what's happening and all tied up. :) At the same time, I'm not going to injure you. It's all for fun.

It is good that this site exists. But we should have a huge fight off with as many men as possible. It is way of life fighting and I did not choose it it choose me. while I don't have a ring, I do have about 10 x 10 mat space in the cellar and more [private] space in the back yard some, 50 miles to the south for wrestling and punching work if you can't make it to the great setup that BoxerCoachinmd has. Hope to get up to the Baltimore area one of these days.

This is a great idea. To meet up with guys I have to travel due to my location. So I am planning to travel in November this year and June next year. I have decent amount of experience and am looking for reason to travel... so give me that reason. You can PM me.

Gut punching and wrestling are not mutually exclusive. Some of us like to work in a lot of the former while wrestling (especially if it's mixing in the other fight sport material). The problem boils down to the fact that even though there are almost a thousand guys in this group, we are spread all over the world, making for a rather small number within, say, a 50, 100, or 150-mile radius. Reduce that by some guys' foibles as to desired age, body type, other often sex-appeal] variables; and we're ending up with small numbers. Thus, attracting travelers probably is the main thing to do, as locals/nearbys have probably already been accomplished or weeded out.

I agree with his statement. It seems for me the best meets have been done by travel. I wish we could a GutPunchfest, something like Wrestlefest. That way we can all travel to one spot and meet a whole bunch of guys.

Seems like we all have difficulty finding punchers/punchees in our own areas. Anyone with some thoughts on how we could possibly help each other find the trouble we seek? There are a lot of gut punch guys on this site and on a few others, but let's face it, it's really more about wrestling ... and that's cool too. I love getting tortured in submission holds and rough housing too. It IS mainly GP fun I'm looking for though.

Let's all keep our eyes open and memories honed, and if you bump into some guy who is far from you but possibly close to some other guy you remember chatting with, how about giving him a heads up that you know of a like-minded fella in his area? Or have the guy contact him himself as a nice little surprise.

As a little aside to the above, here's a thought some of you fellas might enjoy ...

Always been a fantasy of mine to get a message or email out-of-the-blue, telling me to report for punishment. Little information in the message other than ...

REPORT for PUNISHMENT: Then the date, time and place (near my location) are listed ... then "Expect your limits pushed. You're gonna get the cocky, smart ass knocked outta ya boy! The date should be a few weeks off so I have time to anticipate this mystery GP session ... time to sweat and stew a little. That anticipation of an upcoming session with a guy you know is great, can't imagine how great it would be as the mysterious Report for Punishment date got closer and closer.

If I was in your area for that time, I'd be happy to do it. Have you report to middle of woods or forest (I like the out doors). Order you to remove your shirt and take it like a man. Then even before you get your shirt off, the abs abuse begins....
