It is illegal to re-distribute, but not illegal to keep them in cloud storage. Sharing them with a handful of people would be similar to lending books to friends. Copyright claims are very rare and often only made against high profile pirates (e.g. people sharing a summer blockbuster just released on DVD). I can't advise you any further - this is your decision.
Hi - I have a personal dropbox with literally hundreds of full length vids from 15+ production sites, amateur vids from clip sharing sites and my own private vids... i would never share them all because i thought it was illegal.. so, When i share with someone, I create a folder and in that folder i drop links to the videos based on what the guy I’m talking to is or might be in to. So, Sites like pornhub, myvidster, thisvid, all aggregate videos of all kinds and then organize them for me.
I would not have spent a lot of money and time proudly sponsoring & purchasing full length videos from the branded sites etc had I not been exposed to them in the first Place from the video sharing sites. So my questions are:
1- Is video sharing online actually illegal (assuming the trademarked intro of a video is legit)? I don’t see how everyone can do it it’s all over the place!. I’d never risk my career and life, and the penalties are steep. So is it real? Can production sites enforce it?
2- How does the above apply to clips, not full length videos?
Thanks for any insight folks want to provide!
