Idea for Those of Us Who Have Puzzle Mats To Transport

I finally ran across something that handles two things with one item: 1) How do you store and transport 2 x 2 puzzle mats and 2) How do you transport them without carrying them by hand.

Turns out the folks who do commercial exhibits figured this out a while ago because they use 2 x 2 carpet tiles in displays. Go look up "Portable Foam Tile Case For Trade Show Floors & Event Flooring" on Amazon.com. That should point you to a wheeled rectangular duffle that is sized to hold 25 5/8 thick carpet tiles. Reasonable heavy fabric - it will take a beating if you check it as baggage a lot but I'm guessing i should do okay for recreational use.

The current Amazon item comes from FoamTiles Inc/RubberFloorInc.

Had a chance to load mine with 3/4" foam mats today. Takes 16 easily in two side by side stacks and looks to have room for two more on each stack for a total of 20. What I am thinking about adding is something rigid below the mats next to the back of the bag. There is some flex with two stacks of 8 if you grab it by the top handle.

They ship in a disposable cardboard box since they are light for the volume. But I would not routinely try to transport them in cardboard and my 3/4" set are what I take with me when I go somewhere. You can pack maybe 6 of the 1/2" puzzles in a standard large cylindrical duffle. If you want to take enough 3/4" to do at least 8 feet by 8 feet ie 4 tiles x 4 tiles, so far I've only found 3 options that that will do it in one container that looks like somewhat standard luggage and this is the only one that I don't have bring along a dedicated luggage cart for.
