Everybody loves a comeback

Last year hobbled me with some serious back pain. It significantly limited my opportunity for matches.
And continued sciatica has made things feel a bit bleak lately. Is this farewell to the Boston crab and camel clutch? I hope not.
Everyone loves a comeback story and so I'm hoping 2022 allows me to write one.

In the meantime, I wonder if anyone has any inspirational comeback stories from when you powered through your pain and were able to come back to wrestling - or whatever fighting passion you have.

I had the same thing starting in August and getting worse in September. In October starting feeling better. When this happened I was wondering if I would ever wrestle again and was bummed as I have been wrestling (competitive and private matches) since age 12. During December I had a few matches but stayed with some light wrestling as I am being very cautious. Hopefully I can go back to full speed this year.

I had a problem with sciatic issues and it turned out that the problem was in fact, with my hip. My pelvis would tilt, irritate a disc, which would then irritate my sciatic nerve and then go down to my knee, which made walking difficult. It was quite debilitating for a while. I ended up getting a hip replacement surgery and the problem is long gone. Not trying to scare you, but do you have any problems with your hips at all? My problems are long gone, thankfully. Have a great day.

I've had the same problem in the past.
I couldn't walk for a while and had to be hospitalized, but now I'm fully recovered and enjoying wrestling to the fullest in the ring.
In my case, the cause was that my muscles had become so stiff that they were pressing on the nerves, and after receiving treatment to loosen up the muscles, I was able to recover as if it were a lie.

I wish you the best of luck!

I am sorry to hear about your sciatica. It's painful. I know since I had it a number of years ago. Here's the good part. It only lasted 6 months and what helped was a series of stretches. No surgery...just stretching. I would see a good physical therapist. I hope it works for you and maybe, just maybe you will be doing Boston Crabs again soon.
