"Borets" Mark RIP
It came as a huge shock to hear of the death of Mark "Borets" only six months after he and his partner had moved to France to live.
Any one who met Mark will know and attest to the fact that he was a tough grappler on the mats, a skilled boxer in the ring and a total joy socially after a fight session. A man of exceptional intelligence, he brought humour and fun to any meet up. As a friend he was always totally loyal and supportive.
We will miss a really strong, tough, imaginative wrestler.
May he rest in peace!

I'm so glad he made it to France. A reminder to us all to grab life now, and never count on long term plans.
RIP Mark.

24.6.2024 17:33Both saddened & shocked by the news. Fortunately I got to meet him once and have had a few chats with him too.
Condolences go out to his partner.
Not sure if it’s just me but this feels like it is becoming scarily too frequent.
Life is short, so go out and wrestle

What's left of summer but a fading rose?
The best of times is now.
As for tomorrow. Well who knows

Shocked here and he was taken far too early. I truly hope they found contentment and joy together in France. I wish peace for Borets and his partner.

25.6.2024 00:30So sad to hear this news of Mark. I met him several years ago in Grantham. He was such a decent and sound guy and was extremely patient with me and never once used his superior skills in destroying me. Extremely safe guy and always checking I was ok and gave me lots of advice. He was even kind enough to fetch me from and take me back to the train station and gave me a meal after our wrestle! A truly sound and thoroughly decent bloke. R.I.P.

25.6.2024 07:40So sorry to learn of the passing of another Meetfighters legend.
Met Mark 3 times and a great wrestler.
Wonder if he has 'chest bumped' into Dave O'Connor at that great wrestling ring in the sky.

26.6.2024 08:56Saddened by the news. Was lucky enough to visit Mark and Daz 4 or 5 times when lived locally. A very welcoming, intelligent, humorous guy with a 'mean streak'. A great loss.

26.6.2024 23:59SO sorry to hear about Mark's passing. I stayed with them a couple times in that incredibly quaint village near Lincoln and had some hot sweaty matches in their garage. Lost track of them during covid and didn't realize they had moved to France. My deepest sympathies to Darren, and RIP Mark.
